I can't believe I'm really doing this!

Okay, so when I would hear about other mom's blogging, I would think, okay that's cute for them. This is one band wagon I am not climbing aboard on. Not that it is stupid, evil, or even dorky, but I don't have time to Blog! I couldn't see how I could possibly find the time. I can't even seem to do the once a year blog around Christmas time. Not to mention that I must admit I am not that computer savvy. Okay, maybe it's technology in general. I can't even figure out how to download music on my kids' new MP3 players. They are not very useful by the way without that knowledge! So I may be a little intimidated as well. I'm still not sure how this will all pan out. But hey if I can sit in front of the computer and watch American Idol on you tube(because we don't have a TV), I can probably find some time to eek out an update every now and then.

So here goes! We are still trying to fix our house that burned a year ago. Our bank is really giving us a hard time about cashing our last insurance check to finish the repairs. It is a daily stresser. Boy, I'm not starting off very well. No one wants to read about depressing stuff! Let me try again.

Carter just turned 15! He really wants us to put him in drivers Ed. We are telling him to go find a job and earn the money to pay for drivers Ed. I can't believe it's so much money! Not to mention that I can't believe that I am already here! I know how he got this old, but how did I? He constantly cracks us up with his "Kipish". (that's talking like Napolean Dynamite's Kip.)

Trevor has been going to Challenger now for a few months. It is a "school of choice". He loves the laid back schedule. He is home more with me now that he goes to school for just 3 hours. That can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the day. For those of you who remember having a kindergartner and looking forward to 1st grade, you'll understand what I mean.

Rebbeka is almost 11 and reminds us of that daily. She is playing the bells and drums in her band class this year. She had her first concert about a month ago, and even though the teacher started before she had her music ready, (she had to switch between the drums and the bells as she is the only percussionist) she did very well, and stayed calm.

Gerrit has also been going to a school of choice. It specializes in the sciences and arts. He loves it! He just finished out a season in soccer playing in some of the coldest weather. He loves soccer and his turtle Emilie.

Hyrum is last but not the least. He HATES school! Every morning I end up dressing him and getting him out the door, and once he's out, he's fine. Poor kid, every morning during the week, he tells me how he wants to stay with me. Then come Sunday, he tells me he is staying home and not coming with me to church. He just recently caught his first pet, a little frog he found at Grandmas. Let me just warn other mothers out there; do not open your home to a pet unless your ready for a zoo! Let's see, that makes 1 dog, 1 bird, 1 lizard, 1 turtle, and 1 frog.

I think that's enough to start with and gives you the basic introductions. Now let's see if this works, or if I just wasted about 1 hour of my time.
